FOLLOW OUR ADVENTURES IN DEMLAND

We live amongst a tribal group known as the Dem who are located in the mountains of Southeast Asia. We are here to learn their language, translate the Bible into their language, and teach them about God. Misc.

I don't know quite what to make of Raquel's expression here. She looks cute, but if you enlarge it, you will see she also looks a bit crazed.

I forgot to add this one of Lydia to the last post. Here she is helping us clean up from the party and looking mighty fine I must say.

Birthday Party for Jesus!!:)

Elijah liked baby Jesus as much as he liked Santa:)

Raquel's friend Ana came to the party

Christmas Break is here!!:)

This is the lastest fashion for seven month olds

Here is an example of Dylan's fine workmanship:) I thought it looked cool, and it took him a couple days to do it, so I thought he should get some credit for it.

Read your Bible, pray every day

I found Raquel doing her daily devotions:) Turning the pages proves to be quite a challenge.

Ripple Effect

It was a valiant effort but the Waukesha Ripple was defeated 4-6 tonight after their glorious win on Tuesday. (These are pictures from a game last season where Dylan scored 2 goals:) They now have 3 wins 2 losses and 2 tie games. Their loss tonight was probably because Raquel and I couldn't be there, but 10pm is a little late for Raquel to be going out. Their last game this year is Dec. 19 at 10pm- if you are in the area, you should come and show your support:)

Manger meltdown

In these pictures I turned my back from Raquel for exactly two minutes and she managed to make her way to the nativity, grab the donkey by the neck and beat the cow with it. I'm really not sure how this happened since she is only able to scoot backwards right now, but where there's a will there's a way.

Second Try

We tried Santa again!

This time we went to Aunt Kristen's work. Poor Santa- Elijah screamed and Isaac ran away, but he did come back to pose with his mom:) Jenna and Elise did better, and Raquel was a pro now that she has had experience with Santa.

HO HO HUH???

Raquel attended the Children's Christmas Party at Miller Brewing Co. with Oupa and Ouma van Rensburg (that's where Oupa works). She liked pulling on Santa's beard, but when she got a look at his face she wasn't very impressed. She got a fun toy, we decorated cookies, made slime, and ate lunch. It was fun - thanks Oupa and Ouma:)
