FOLLOW OUR ADVENTURES IN DEMLAND

We live amongst a tribal group known as the Dem who are located in the mountains of Southeast Asia. We are here to learn their language, translate the Bible into their language, and teach them about God. Roach:) Missouri

This weekend we visited our orgs training center (MTC) in Missouri. This is where we will be living for the next two years starting in August.
We drove down with the Tyler family. Matt and Laura have two little girls- Haley is 2 and Ana is just a couple weeks younger than Raquel. We all squeezed in to the Tylers 7 passenger van and drove 10 hours to Missouri. All the girls were very good considering the length of the drive.
The weather in Missouri was beautiful and we really enjoyed being able to be outdoors. The campus is right on the Lake of the Ozarks. Raquel got to crawl around outside for the first time ever and discovered grass, mud and rocks. She thinks they are all delicious.
On Friday, we got to sit in on some of the classes, and each night we ate supper with different students. We also stayed in an apartment like the one we will be living in. On Saturday, Dylan got to play soccer for about 3 hours, and also went wakeboarding and surfing behind the boat. Then we went on a pontoon boat ride- the girls really liked their life jackets:).
It was a really good trip, and we are looking forward to starting school at the end of the summer.

Poor Raquel!

Two ear infections, pink eye, a runny nose and a new tooth.
These are the various problems plaguing Raquel these days.
In the pictures she is comforting herself by running the cord
of Dylan's headphones over her sore gums.

Chores

We keep Raquel very busy learning common household
tasks such as organizing the DVD's.

However, sometimes it's OK to take a break and watch a movie.
