FOLLOW OUR ADVENTURES IN DEMLAND

We live amongst a tribal group known as the Dem who are located in the mountains of Southeast Asia. We are here to learn their language, translate the Bible into their language, and teach them about God. "going to town"

We flew out with my parents on the 15th of May and spent the next two and a half weeks in town.  We had only planned on one week, but our airstrip got shut down because there was too much pig damage.  No planes were allowed to land until the fence around the airstrip was repaired.  It was a rather frustrating time, since we couldn't do anything to help and had to move around from place to place after that first week, but we know that God had a reason and we worked on being content in all circumstances :)

The kids surely enjoyed all the treats.  Ice cream was first on their list.

and then susu coklat (chocolate milk:)

We stopped at the beach where General McArthur first landed in this country during WWII.  There are still the remains of three tanks on the beach.
Dad made a friend:)
My Mom stayed for almost a week after my dad left.  We took a boat ride on the lake one day.

And got to go swimming!

One night we went to a new restaurant.  There was a birthday party going on when we got there and our kids all got a balloon and a piece of cake and got to play on the bouncy castle.
We were so glad to be able to fly back home after moving locations 3 times our last week in town.
